It can take just being in a few of these moments to decide that this is the truth. To be present in such a moment is to realise that the simple things have a depth and beauty that go far deeper than any complicated, contrived, managed and planned excursion to locate happiness.
The song of birds outside my window this morning was so vibrant it cut through my sluggishness and became part of my waking. It filled my energy sphere and pulled the sunshine in with it.
Our senses are primarily there for us to feel what is out there in the world, and its time to come back on line with them.
I know that when we discard the irrelevant distractions and discordant vibrations that pull us away from our simple reasons to find delight with what is around us, then we will. Smell, taste, touch sight and vision will be enhanced to experience simple things but on a level, much bigger and brighter than before. We will be finding things that delight.
We will be doing things that delight us. Even if that just means sitting in a field or by a stream and feeling the life energy of that field or that stream.
For now we can take time to 'feel into' each small and simple thing that brings delight, and allow them to help us create our repertoire of 'small excursions into delight.'
- Tea and oranges under the shade of a tree.
- picking leaves off a mint plant to make your own mint tea or mint water
- Browsing in a bookshop
- choosing candles to light
- creating your own rituals to start the day, to end the day
- drawing or painting, small pages to keep in a book of dreams
- humming or singing, listening to music that uplifts or holds you tight
- bathing in oils
- writing a letter to express gratitude
- writing a story
- writing your thoughts in a journal, a self love book of dreams
- browsing through your thoughts and memories to find delight
- Browsing through the present moment to find a source of delight
- putting ingredients together to create a new dish
- walking
- talking
- meditation
- sitting in a chair that you have created a sanctuary of 'special me-time' around.
- thinking, engaging with higher level thought, get to know how you work and what responses you make, how you upset yourself and how you can soothe yourself, use thinking to ponder on the wonders of it all, and how you are a divine aspect of All That is, and what that potentially can mean for you.
- sharing
- running through trees
- jogging
- cycling
- swimming
- being nice to those around you by smiling
- smiling at your self in the mirror
- Remember "Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love. Mother Teresa.
- being nice to yourself, talk to yourself
- find that you CAN smooth any friction out of the moment
- have a conversation with the moment to find a source of delight in it
- do nice things for yourself
- learn how to love yourself
love the fact that the Now Moment is ever expanding and that you can go to sleep in it and wake up in it, it is always new and ready for you to find something within it to delight you.
Michaela.

We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls. Mother Teresa
