I have just returned from a visit to family in Ireland and was happy to find even more validation that this is a significant name.
The word Dair is the name for the ancient Irish symbol for the Oak tree. It is from Ogham writing, pronounced 'Oam', which predates writing as we know today. Ogham writing was a series of lines cut into standing rocks and stones, each 'word' was differentiated by the number, length, direction ( horizontal and vertical) of cuts into the standing stones. Dair means oak and has intense meaning in its own right.
I have found myself being drawn to the magnificence and energy of trees for some time now. When walking in their presence I feel their knowledge. I used to walk my children to and from school and was lucky enough to go through some green areas and parkland where there were some magnificent trees.
It took some time but gradually I became accustomed to speaking to them and found there was a greeting for me, if I allowed myself feel it.
I recognise they are reaching far into the sky and deep into the earth, they receive, bring down to earth and anchor divine love energy. They are the standing sedentary earth angels that provide guidance and strength. They hold they answers to life itself.
If we learn to connect with them, the trees can help us hold and anchor the strength and tranquillity, the divine will and knowledge that will push us through on this strange journey.
So in the meditation, I wrote about in my post dated 24 June 2013, I was somehow given the name Dara, which didn't make sense to me at the time. Now I know it is in reference to the ancient language of my ancestral heritage and it is in reference to the most magnificent Oak tree, I AM awestruck.
What does it mean to have this name now? Is it a gift? A guidance? Is it an acknowledgment? Is it validation that I have in reality been speaking and connecting to the trees? I know that it is an honour and hold this deep to my heart. Don't worry, I'm not rushing to the registry offices to change my name by deed poll, but I will be very observant as to any clues that may cast light on what this means.
Walking through trees, in parkland or woodland will assist a person in walking meditations, it will help them offload their burden, and will cleanse their auras. Be mindful of the thoughts you have when walking past trees. Much love Michaela, Dara.
Dara, or Dair.
