Once every cycle, the Moon sits right opposite the Sun on
her orbit around Earth, and we see her Full face, illuminated in the night sky.
It’s her point of climax.
It’s the culmination of the waxing phases: when all of the
growing, creating, building, enlarging and expanding that can be done, has
been. The Moon is as full of light and
solar energy as she can be. From this
point onwards, her light and energy wane: She becomes darker and darker, less
and less until she’s completely dark in the sky, and the Moon is New once more.
In this way, the Full Moon marks a powerful moment of
change: a pivot point in space and time, the axis point between rising and
falling energy. Which means it is an
exceptionally powerful moment to make use of, with ritual.
FULL MOON IN SAGITTARIUS – COOL YOUR HEAD!
This Full Moon sits in Fire.
Falling at 8º of Sagittarius, at 07:19 PT / 15:19 BST, it
adds a flare of heat and ignition to the skies, notably the Gemini Sun and its
tendency to enliven and scatter the mind.
This may mean that you feel “hot-headed” and have little patience around
the time of this lunation. So be very
careful to think before you speak.
Sagittarius can sometimes leave little room for others opinions, so take
a breath. Pause. Hold back.
Lunar fire energy also means that burning rituals and any
ceremonies which incorporate this fierce elemental force will have their
potency amplified! So if the recent
transit of Uranus into Taurus is making you feel flustered, it could be that you
need to shake up some change in your life.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NEW MOON AND FULL MOON RITUALS
People have practised rituals at the Full and New Moons for
aeons. Our ancestors recognised the
magical potential of these times, as portals through which to harness the power
of the planets. The characters of the
New and Full Moons are very different – at the New Moon, we retreat, dream,
divine, imagine and sow seeds of intention in the inky blackness. New Moons are the first step on the journey
to manifestation. Full Moons can also be used to manifest, but their potency is
different: it’s magnetic, immediate, ecstatic.
But there is another side to the Full Moon. As the tipping
point in the lunar cycle, when the energy of growth becomes the energy of loss,
they hold the quality and capacity to remove, to erase, to loosen and let go.
The Full Moon can be harnessed to powerfully and intentionally release what no
longer serves.
WHY DO NEW MOON AND FULL MOON RITUALS WORK?
A Full Moon ritual of release is a powerful thing.
If you want to change something in THIS world – in the
solid, 3D reality around you – then you must also make changes energetically.
Rituals have the power to join the physical to the spiritual or energetic
worlds. Rituals happen at the crossroad, the point of intersection between
realms, so practising them helps enormously, to seed your intention through the
realms and make it stick (so it has much more chance of being realised!)
But rituals serve another purpose too, especially those that
are practised at the New and Full Moons.
By aligning your intentions with the lunar cycle, you are able to
harness lunar energy. This means that
the effort you put into making the change (which is the focus of your ritual)
will be “helped along”, by the energetic force of the Moon. It is as though the
work you do is amplified and in many cases, accelerated through the practice of
ritual.
Below is described a very simple Full Moon ritual of release
using fire, which holds a powerful elemental force. Try it!
FULL MOON RELEASE RITUAL
WHAT YOU NEED:
A Pen and Paper
A Candle
Incense (optional)
A heatproof bowl
STEP 1
Before beginning the ritual, spend a little time with a pen
and some paper, listing some of the things you wish to release from your
life. These maybe actual things –
objects, things in your environment, even people (a word of warning – be very,
very careful including people in your intentions, without their consent or knowledge.
Rituals are powerful, and you may push away people you actually need.) Or they may be thoughts, habits, patterns of
behavior that are no longer serving you.
This is a really useful step because it may reveal patterns
to you. So for example, instead of creating a ritual to remove a whole list of
individual items from your life, a simple intention to release a single pattern
of emotional attachment may actually serve you better?
For the ritual, choose one, two or a maximum of three things
to release and write these down on a separate piece of paper.
STEP 2
Go outside and sit under the Full Moon. (It may not be
visible in your part of the world at the actual point of Fullness, but this
doesn’t matter. You can perform this ritual up to a couple of days, either
side).
STEP 3
Light a candle.
STEP 4
Light some incense.
You may want to use white sage or Paulo Santo to cleanse the
space you are in, and your own energy field, but this is optional. Another
reason it can be good, though, is that certain scents can activate ancient
codes within the body, which serve to connect you further to the Spirit realms.
Those from certain traditions may want to call in the directions, or other
spirit guides, so do what feels right for you.
STEP 5
Sit on the ground (or a chair) and connect with the Moon.
Feel her presence.
Imagine your crown chakra opening up like a flower, and the
light of the Moon streaming down and through it, filling up your body with a
silvery, white light. Let this light go wherever it needs to go – in your
physical body, your emotional body, your light body…
STEP 6
Read through the items on your list of release. You may want
to read it out loud, or silently inside of your heart, but feel them as parts
of your life, in this moment.
Now say the words:
“I am so grateful for all of the lessons I have received in
my life. But the time has come for me to release …. (read out your list)“.
STEP 7
Hold your list to the flame of the candle, so that it
catches alight. As you do this, feel them leave your life. Feel a lightness, as
these things are no longer a part of you.
Now say the words:
“I offer (…say the things on your list…) to the flame, and
ask Grandmother Moon to help me release them from my life”.
And LET THEM GO. The key to this part of the ritual is to
feel these things leaving your life and to trust they no longer belong to you.
Drop the burning paper into the heatproof bowl, and ensure
it goes out safely.
STEP 8
It’s important at this point that you invite something else
into your life, to take up the space left behind.
Love is ideal! So say the words:
“In their place, I invite pure love into my life. I ask
Grandmother Moon to shower me in the love and protection of Spirit. Thank you!”
STEP 9
To complete the ceremony, give thanks and set an intention
to hold this vibration of love in your heart. And don’t forget to blow out your
candle and incense!
If you have friends, then do this together!
Speaking aloud and sharing your intentions for release will
make your ritual much more potent – their trust and witness will amplify your
results. And don’t forget to write down your experiences. Keeping a record is invaluable when it comes
to trusting and empowering this work.
Imagine looking back over a year’s worth of rituals and being able to
see, 12 months from now, just how much junk you have managed to release from
your life!

Personal manifesto. Spiritual and physical.
How do we blend our spiritual and physical motivation into a practical creating the life we want?
Try creating a personal manifesto using some down to earth, grounding and clearing the decks of thought clutter, techniques.
We can meditate and feel inspired, but until we 'act' to ground those inspirations then they will not anchor in reality.
'All is' on many levels, so remember that as and when an idea comes to us, and a plan of an idea is being formed, :
- it starts by having already been a possibility in the heavens, because if it were not, then there would be no way that information would be coming to you. So because it does exist in the All That Is, you are tapping into it....So the first step is knowing that the idea is possible.
Everything in the 'All That is', is therefore possible, because it exists already in unmanifested form. You just need to translate that into the manifested form...
which will require action on your part.
Maybe we need to get a spiritual, inner self/higher self blend with the practical actions required to land an idea.

7 Powerful Questions To Find Out What You Want To Do With Your Life
What do I want to do with my life? It’s a question all of us think about at one point or another. For some, the answer comes easily. For others, it takes a lifetime to figure out. It’s easy to just go through the motions and continue to do what’s comfortable and familiar. But for those of you who seek fulfillment, who want to do more, these questions will help you paint a clearer picture of what to do with your life.
1. What are the things I’m most passionate about?
The first step to living a more fulfilling life is to think about the things that you’re passionate about. What do you love? What fulfills you? What “work” do you do that doesn’t feel like work? Maybe you enjoy writing, maybe you love working with animals or maybe you have a knack for photography.
The point is, figure out what you love doing, then do more of it.
2. What are my greatest accomplishments in life so far?
Think about your past experiences and the things in your life you’re most proud of. How did those accomplishments make you feel? Pretty darn good, right? So why not try and emulate those experiences and feelings? If you ran a marathon once and loved the feeling you had afterwards, start training for another one. If your child grew up to be a star athlete or musician because of your teachings, then be a coach or mentor for other kids. Continue to do the things that have been most fulfilling for you.
3. If my life had absolutely no limits, what would I choose to have and what would I choose to do?
Here’s a cool exercise: think about what you would do if you had no limits. if you had all the money and time in the world, where would you go? What would you do? Who would you spend time with?
These answers can help you figure out what you want to do with your life. It doesn’t mean you need millions of dollars to be happy though. What it does mean is answering these questions will help you set goals to reach certain milestones and create a path toward happiness and fulfillment. Which leads to our next question …
4. What are my goals in life?
Goals are a necessary component to set you up for a happy future. So answer these questions:
- What are your health goals?
- What are your career goals?
- What are your family goals?
Once you figure out the answers to each of these, you’ll have a much better idea of what you should do with your life.
5. Whom do I admire most in the world?
Following the path of successful people can set you up for success. Think about the people you respect and admire most. What are their best qualities? Why do you respect them? What can you learn from them?
It’s been said that you’re the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. So don’t waste your time with people who hold you back from achieving your dreams. Spend more time with happy, successful, optimistic people and you’ll become one of them.
6. What do I not like to do?
An important part of figuring out what you want to do with your life is honestly assessing what you don’t want to do. What are the things you despise? What bugs you the most about your current job? Maybe you hate meetings even though you sit through 6 hours of them every day. If that’s the case, find a job where you can work more independently.
The point is, if you want something to change in your life, you need to take action. Which leads to our final question …
7. How hard am I willing to work to get what I want?
Great accomplishments never come easy. If you want to do great things with your life, you’re going to have to make a great effort. That will probably mean putting in more hours the average person, getting outside your comfort zone and learning as much as you can to achieve as much as you can.
But here’s the cool part: it’s often the journey that is the most fulfilling part. It’s during these seemingly small, insignificant moments that you’ll often find that “aha” moments that helps you answer the question, “What do I want to do with my life?”
So take the first step toward improving your life. You won’t regret it.
We've all hit that point where we can't figure out exactly what we really want to do with our lives. It can come when you're 18 or when you're 50, and it's always a difficult process to work through. It's not hopeless, though! Here are a few ways to help you figure it out.
Discovering what you really want to do with your life isn't an easy task for anyone, nor is it something that you can really create a step-by-step guide for. That said, when you're not really sure what you want to do, whether it's a career, a lifestyle, or anything else, a few different exercises might help you pinpoint what it is you truly want. Here are four ways to try to pinpoint what you want from your future.
Think About Where You'll Be in Five Years
The "where do you see yourself in five years?" question riddles everything from job interviews to financial plans, and while it seems cliché, it’s common for a reason: it works. It's one of those annoyingly difficult questions to answer, and in most cases it's pretty much impossible to answer in a concrete way. Thankfully, that's okay, and sometimes just trying to answer the question is all you need.
Considering how common of advice it is, the idea of seeing into the future and picturing where you'll be in five years is a heck of a lot harder to do than you'd think. Plus, the chances you'll actually end up where you see yourself is pretty slim. That said, as Adam Savage points out on the Still Untitled Podcast, the exercise of talking about where you see yourself in five years is still useful. He shares this story:
The thing that you feel like you really want to do is the thing to pursue. You will not end up there, and that reminds me of one of Kurt Vonnegut's off-quoted statements is the punchline to his favorite joke: 'Keep your hat on. We may end up miles from here..."
I remember being 19 and meeting a girlfriend's mom, and she asks me, "What are your going to be doing in five years?" And I named something I thought I'd do. She listened to me give this long explanation, and she said, "You're not going to be doing any of that. You have no idea what you'll be doing in five years. You'll be doing something really cool, but it's not something you can imagine right now." It's one of the greatest things that anyone gave me. She was totally right. Every five years it's the same. I can never imagine where I ended up from where I started.
Savage's point here is pretty simple: it doesn't matter where you think you'll be in five years, but it's still important to think about because it gives you the idea you want to pursue. As far as careers are concerned, Harvard Business Review takes a similar approach and recommends you think about what you want to learn in the next five years:
What capabilities will you have wanted to build in five years? For example, "I can't say exactly what I'm going to be doing in five years, but I hope to have further developed my skills as a strategist and people manager." This is a safe way to answer regardless of your age or career stage. "You don't want to ever give the impression that you're done learning," says Weintraub.
It's a simple idea that's very similar to Savage's approach, but it does so in a way where you're directly concentrating on what you'll need to get to a place you'll be happy in five years. As we've pointed out before, picking a lifestyle to pursue instead of a job title can help you focus in what you're really interested in, and this is one way to do that.
Write Your Personal Manifesto
The idea of a personal manifesto might sound a little silly on the surface. The idea is that if you can figure out where you stand on certain ideas, you might be able to flesh out a possible career or lifestyle path. Silly or not, the idea of a personal manifesto is implemented by everyone from Google to Frank Lloyd Wright. The point, as The Art of Manliness says, is to give yourself a call to action to define how you want to do things. It's easy to write your own manifesto, and while you don't have to do it in a specific way, The Art of Manliness has a few suggestions for getting started:
- Pick your topics: Pick a few topics to concentrate on, and make them as specific as you can. Ideas like, "The hours I want to work," or "How I want to commute" are great for narrowing in on what kind of work you might be interested in.
- Set down your principles: Write down your beliefs and intentions. It probably sounds a little over-the-top, but if you've never really written down and thought about your morals or beliefs then this is a good time to do so.
- Use strong, affirmative language: It's easy to write a manifesto with words like "I want" or "I should" but that's not helping you. Write it out with affirmative language like, "I will," or use the present tense with "I am."
The main purpose of the personal manifesto is to really figure out what you care about, how you perceive yourself, and how you want to act moving forward. It's not always a key to figuring out exactly what you want to do with your life, but it's a great starting point for at least figuring out how you want to go about those goals. Grab a pen, some paper, and get to writing out what you believe.
Volunteer or Shadow Someone in a Job You're Interested In
One of the reasons that figuring out what we want to do is so terrifying is because we tend to overcommit. Want to maybe write that book? Go to grad school! Thinking about being a lawyer? Apply for law school! When you up the ante on plans, they get real serious, real fast, and it's hard to make a decision with that kind of pressure. So, don't overcommit to an idea. Instead, take a couple days to try on the lifestyle. To do this, you can try volunteering or shadowing someone at their job.
We've talked before about finding a volunteer gig you enjoy. The idea here is to put yourself in a position where you'll learn something and try on a new career. If you're struggling to really figure out what you want to do with yourself, volunteer work is a way to try out a ton of different jobs without committing to any of them. Contrary to what you might think, volunteer work can include all kinds of work, including coding or manual labor. Volunteer Match is a good place to start the hunt for volunteer work.
Likewise, doing a job shadow is another way to get a closer look at an industry without committing to long hours in school or (worse) at a job you hate. Monster has a few suggestions for how to go about shadowing:
While students and recent graduates have long embraced job shadowing, Crawford, author of Flying Solo: Career Transition Tips for Singles, says everyone should consider job shadowing, especially in this economy. "You have to be more assertive than ever with your career, and asking for the opportunity to shadow someone is a way to not only learn what that job is like, but to expand your network as well," she says.
Crawford, who is based in Atlanta, notes that certain industries lend themselves well to job shadowing, including medicine and law. However, you can usually plan a job shadow for any kind of job. Your college's career center, alumni association or your local chamber of commerce can all be instrumental in helping to arrange a job shadow if your immediate network doesn't yield any possibilities.
Obviously job shadowing is tailored to college students, but it's possible for anyone to give it a try, especially if you're willing to work a day or two for free in the industry. To actually shadow someone, you're best bet is to call up a company and set up and appointment to do so. You might need to go through a few options before you land a place that'll let you come in, but offering to work for free during your time is certainly a way to perk the company's ears up.
Dig Into Those Side Projects
Sometimes, the best way to really figure out what you want to do with yourself is good old trial and error. In a lot of cases, this just means trying out various side projects you're interested in with all the free time you have.
These side projects are all kinds of things. They might be as simple as finding a hobby you enjoy, or as far-reaching as testing out different industries that you might consider looking for a career in. As writer Scott Young describes it, it's all about being curious, and side projects are a great way to do that:
Instead of making definite decisions about a career path, I believe you should get curious. Get curious about the way the world works. Notice your own interests and find small ways you can exercise passion in something. Even if you can’t find a way to make money off of it yet.The bridge from passion to money-maker can’t be made hastily. Interests often get discarded because they cannot be immediately relayed into a source of income. And therefore aren’t as important as work that does.
The idea here is to take on a lot of side projects, learn new skills, or tackle a few passion projects to try and figure out what you want to do with your life. Once you have a few ideas, it's time to find the time to actually work on those projects, try on new hobbies without spending too much money, teach yourself to stick with it, and just get started working on them.
The goal here is to give you a better idea of what you want to do with yourself. Like we mentioned in the first section, this might just reveal "the thing you want to pursue" and not your actual career path. That's okay, because if nothing else it sets you on the path to getting somewhere you want to end up.
In the end, figuring out your passion, your career path, your life purpose—whatever you want to call it—isn't an easy process and no magic bullet exists for doing it. The fact is, you need to think about it, and to do so you might need to push yourself through some mental hurdles until you figure out exactly what is you've been looking for. The above tips are just a few of the many ways to do so.
