Venus and Adonis
I read my friend's coffee cup for her on Friday, I could see her forthcoming trip returning to her home country and the emotional depths that would bring for her. I don't often read my own tea leaves but I looked into my own cup and saw the back view of a big, voluptuous nude woman and she was looking back to me, the viewer, over her shoulder. I could see the profile of her face, pale and luminescent. She had lots curves and long waves of light coloured hair binding around her.
She was translucent and etheric, goddess like, and her poise and posture reminded me of the famous Reubens nudes.
Looking at a page of Reubens nudes, I found Venus and Adonis, and there she was. The goddess in my teacup was Venus.
Reading about the symbology of Venus I came across these two sites,

...which together bring the words that help me relate to the energies of Venus, and put words to describe the energy that inserted itself into my tea cup, that huge, but soft and voluptuous, energy I feel as its wraps around me and entwines with me, becoming part of me.
It is inclusive and soft, nurturing and alluring, beguiling and timeless.
There is a way for you to find your Venus, you just have to look for the ways that bring out that expansiveness of Loving what is around you, what you are creating, what you are seeing and doing, what you caress, what words you use to convey how you feel...
for me it can be like looking, feeling, loving.....all from the soft place of a huge and soft velvet bed.
Of course I am not really in this huge soft velvet bed, but when I bring the venutian energy alive in my attention, it can certainly feel like I am 'directing operations' from this dark and dusky velvet, boudoir. a bit like this painting The “Rokeby Venus” (1647-51) is one of 46 paintings by Velázquez,
But for now, the position of Venus in the ongoing wheel of time on this planet, guides me to relax and just fall in with whats happening, using the goddess's know how and pure sense of self, and unassailable sense of being.
Venus is the lover of those who love, and guides those who are yearning to learn about love. She does this from the various standpoints we find ourselves, sometimes she drifts behind the veil to allow us free will and chaos, loss and betrayal, a chance to be masters over what we are doing, and sometimes, like Now, her presence is stronger and she comes back to dwell inside us, guide us from within and look out from our eyes....today is her last day in Leo, so enjoy...

Venus is in Leo from June 13-July 9. Love is magnificent and grand. We take pride in love, and we are generous with our money as well. This is a warmhearted, teasing, expressive, proud, and extravagant placement for Venus. Love is a bit of a game–a game that is perpetual, as Venus in Leo is forever stuck in the romance stage of a relationship. We feed on attention, acknowledgment, validation, and adoration. Venus in Leo loves to be adored, pampered, and admired. Pride and passion are hallmarks of this cycle. We have a strong ego investment in our love lives during this period. The negative expression of this placement is overstating our feelings simply for the effect, as well as extravagance.
Venus is in Virgo from July 9-August 6. This is a time when we express our love through practical means and gestures–running errands, doing detail work, or just being there for our lovers. Love needs to make sense and have a purpose with Venus in Virgo. Virgo is an Earth sign, which is sensual but also quite practical. Besides our romantic natures, what we decide to buy and the types of entertainment we enjoy during this cycle is ruled by whether or not things make sense. We could easily feel guilty if we are too self-indulgent at this time. Rendering services to others can fill a need, and can be an expression of love. The shadow side of this position is being overly critical of our partners, picky, or worrisome.
