Crow energy, and a strange message to me... "Be bombastic" (?????)

I was cycling today and went to the outdoor parks gym near me to have a work out, and strengthen my knee. As usual there were two crows. I don't get there everyday but I see the same two crows each day I do go. Before I got to the gym, I had cycled out further and over rough grass and banks, my bike is not a professional machine but I can push it if I care to.

There was some sudden rain and thunder so I sheltered in the middle of a circle of trees that had a grwn in a circle and created a large sheltered space or dwelling, you could say it felt like a meeting area.  When inside the shelter,  if you choose,  you can stand still and recognise that many different energies are at play. I waited for a while just enjoying soaking up the tree energy.

As I was leaving the circle of trees, I felt that I wanted a talisman to take with me to help me direct my focus. I saw some broken-off  tree bark and thought that it might do as some kind of talisman, some good old tree energy.

I turned it over and saw that the shape of the bark was unmistakenly a birds head with a crest. I knew it was a connection as I felt it. I wasn't able to get the message though, I 'd had some strange energy situation yesterday and wanted to clear that up. It was about my boundaries and what/where direction I need to start treading, away from or toward something....I had no phone to take a photo so I just had to hold the intention that there was a talisman connection.

So I continued on my bike and came eventually to the outdoor park gym. There were the two crows by the the equipment.

After a while of quiet side stepping and waiting for me to acknowledge them they nonchalontly dropped in the message ..... 'Be BomBastic,' which I questioned, ???? The meaning of bombastic is quite literally
bombastic
bɒmˈbastɪk/
adjective
adjective: bombastic
  1. high-sounding but with little meaning; inflated.
    "bombastic rhetoric"

So where would this serve any purpose to any one....I suppose that that mystery will unfold in time. However the closest I could find that had a sliver of meaning for me was a description of how Shakespear used bombastic description.

Shakespeare's toying with the style of accumulation climaxes into bombast: 'Were I ... construct removed from the metaphysical meaning of love: 'Feather of lead, ...

and this,  where an Artist is blowing his own trumpet and so is considered Bombastic.

Other than that,  Bombastic is about speaking up and loudly, perhaps to drown out and not suffer others bombastic stuff for a change......I don't know, maybe its to just load your own feathers, fluff them out and preen your crest to speak up and out, over others....for a change.

The birds didnt say much but were quite reassuring...To be....Bombastic, this must be in relation to the energy sitution of yesterday.

Anyway the soft and shy presence  of the crows allowed a communication to then be more about the creation of direction.
Sometimes it is hard to translate a feeling so I just checked in to see what others say about the energy of crow, and was pleasantly surprised, the two crows were actually communicating the message as described in:
 http://www.birdclan.org/crow.html

Crow is the left-handed guardian. Crow knows the unknowable mysteries of creation and is the keeper of all sacred law. There are several species of crow. Raven is one of these and magpies are another. Crow medicine people are masters of illusion. Do not try to figure crow out. It is the power of the unknown at work, and something special is about to happen.
Crow is also the guardian of ceremonial magic and healing. In any healing circle, Crow is present. Crow guides the magic of healing and the change in consciousness that will bring about a new reality and dispel "dis-ease" or illness. You can rest assure when ever crows are around, magic is near by and you are about to experience a change in consciousness. Crow can give you the courage to enter the darkness of the void, which is the home of all that is not yet in form.
They are territorial and won't give up an area without a fight. They are loners, seeming to like to spend time to themselves.

If you have a crow as a totem, you need to be willing to walk your talk and speak your truth. You must put aside your fear of being a voice in the wilderness and "caw" the shots as you see them. Crow is an omen of change. If he keeps appearing to you he may be telling you that you have a powerful voice when addressing issues that you do not quite understand or feel that they are out of balance.
Crows are the bringer of messages from the spirit world, and is thought to dwell beyond the realm of time and space.
When you meet crow, he could be telling you that there will be changes in your life and that possibly you should step by the usual way you view reality and look into the inner realms …walk your talk…be prepared to let go of your old thinking and embrace a new way of viewing yourself and the world.
Crow is the sacred keeper of the law. Crow medicine signifies a firsthand knowledge of a higher order of right and wrong than that indicated by the laws created in human culture. With Crow medicine, you speak in a powerful voice when addressing issues that for you seem out of harmony, out of balance, out of whack, or unjust.
When you learn to allow your personal integrity to be your guide, your sense of feeling alone will vanish. Your personal will can then emerge so that you will stand in your truth. The prime path of true Crow people says to be mindful of your opinions and actions. Be willing to walk your talk, speak your truth, know your life’s mission, and balance past, present, and future in the now. Shape shift that old reality and become your future self. Allow the bending of physical laws to aid in creating the shape shifted world of peace.

Theres more......

The bird I saw on the tree bark, or rather the tree bark was like it had been carved in the shape of a bird with a crest. I kind of though it looked like a dinosaur.  I found in Wikipedia,  that crests are used to communicate with other members of the species, or to frighten away different species that get too close, or bothersome.

When I saw the bark, it was the talisman I was looking for, and it gave me the message that I was looking for. I was going to take it home and put a gem or crystal in the place neatly positioned for its eye. But then I thought I ve got to stop bringing this stuff home, which only implies that the talisman is there to do the work.......Its time for me to embody the energy and bring that home.

I also got a great feeling that I am from bird energy, (somewhere/somehow????) and that bird energy was looking out for me today. Perhaps looking to communicate with me.......

Crest (feathers)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The grey crowned crane - an example of a crested bird species
The crest is a prominent feature exhibited by several bird and other dinosaur species on their heads.
The crest is made up of semiplume feathers: a long rachis with barbs on either side. These are plumulaceous feathers, meaning that they are soft and bendable. In birds, these semiplumes are common along the head, neck, and upper back, and may be used for buoyancy and sensing vibrations.
Crests on birds are generally used for display purposes. Cockatoos and their smaller cousins, cockatiels, are part of the parrot family Cacatuidae found in Australia, the Bismarck Archipelago and the Philippines, and are probably the most recognizable birds to feature crests.[1] Cockatoos and cockatiels possess crests which may be raised or lowered at will. Their crests are used to communicate with fellow members of their species, or as a form of defense to frighten away other species that approach too closely, making the bird appear larger when the crest is suddenly and unexpectedly raised.[2] Crests can be recumbent or recursive, depending on the species.[3] The recumbent crest has feathers that are straight and lie down essentially flat on the head until the bird fans them out to where they stand up. The white cockatoo, for example, possesses a recumbent crest.[3] The recursive crest is noticeable even when it is not fanned out because it features feathers, that, when lying down, curve upward at the tips, and when standing up, often bend slightly forward toward the front of the head. Many recursive crests also feature brilliant colors. The sulphur-crested cockatoo has a recursive crest, and the Major Mitchell's cockatoo (also known as the Leadbeater's cockatoo) possesses a prominent recursive crest.[2] Some birds, like the galah, or rose-breasted cockatoo, have modified crests, which has features of both recumbent and recursive types.[2]
