The black moon Lilith arrives in on the steam of a chinese laundry, 21st August. Black moon Lilith has been in Sagitarius since February and she remains there till November, But the moon conjuncts Saturn at Sagitarius on 21 August so that makes interesting watching, Is this when things get chaotic as washing is thrown around in the chinese laundry? Any ideas???

"Keep that spirit strong as the Moon conjuncts Saturn at 22 Sagittarius, "a Chinese laundry."  Last night, Phoenix and I discussed this symbol quite a bit, as it is the degree of the Black Moon-Saturn conjunction on August 21 - the day of the New Moon and Total Solar Eclipse.  The Black Moon has been on Saturn's heels all summer, and will finally meet up with it that day."

The first mention of the black moon lillith.

First Quarter Moon Phase:
take action, move beyond comfort zone

Moon in Sagittarius
Sun: 11 Leo - "children on a swing in a huge oak tree"
Higher Expression:  approaching things with a playful attitude, safety and security, openness, strong core
Lower Expression:  irresponsible, worries about safety and security, not taking a break, forcing things
Earth:  11 Aquarius - "during a silent hour, a man receives a new inspiration which may change his life"
Higher Expression:  creating space for something new, solutions, listening to intuition, breathing new life into situations
Lower Expression:  negating, selfishness, over-doing
Over the years, I have come to find the day that the Sun and Earth are at 11 Leo and 11 Aquarius is the quintessential energy of summertime (if you are a southern hemisphere wise owl, you may need to use your imagination for this one).  Today's combination of energetics invites us to engage life from a pleasurable perspective.  It asks us to open space in our hearts and minds.  It suggests we lighten up.  Ideally, we "play" or approach life from a more enjoyable perspective.
If you need another excuse to play today, we also have the Moon making conjunction first with the Black Moon (10:30 pm ET/2:30 am UT) and later with Saturn (at 3:37 am ET/7:37 am UT).  This combination is heavy, but the higher octave is REBIRTH.  The Black Moon represents the cycle of death and rebirth, but the rebirth part tends to be forgotten.  The Black Moon moves to 20 Sagittarius (with two thirds of its transit through Sagittarius now complete!) and the Sabian symbol of "in winter, people cutting ice from a frozen pond for summer use."  This energetic teaches us to plan for the future, to take action for the future, and to overcome what may be obstructing the way.
But since it is "Summertime Day" today, let's reap a reward from some type of action taken in the past - perhaps during a long winter's night.  Consider what you have overcome to bring you where you are, and give your spirit some credit.
Keep that spirit strong as the Moon conjuncts Saturn at 22 Sagittarius, "a Chinese laundry."  Last night, Phoenix and I discussed this symbol quite a bit, as it is the degree of the Black Moon-Saturn conjunction on August 21 - the day of the New Moon and Total Solar Eclipse.  The Black Moon has been on Saturn's heels all summer, and will finally meet up with it that day.
For today, let's remember to play because experience tells this will be the best way.
Many thanks to Phoenix for creating space for us all to approach things a different way.  It's always a pleasure to be invited on his show.  When the show is available, I will post it.

SABIANS

360 degrees in the making:

Paola Emma’s reflections on the Sabian symbols

I have used throughout the original images transmitted in 1925
These writings, like all ‘readings’ of the Sabian symbols, are a bit of an indulgence really, because, trying to rationalize and make sense of an image, we run the risk of dis-empowering it.
We could do well to always remember to take in the image first, letting the psyche process it in its own non-rational way. Only afterwards read the writings or thoughts, mine and others, or attempt to verbalize your own discoveries.
Most important of all it is to observe how the sunrise degree image resonates with our individual experience of the day in question. Only then perhaps we may begin to penetrate the mystery of the Sabian symbols. Elsie Wheeler’s 1925 visions are to me one of many ways I’m becoming more aware of synchronicity, even when I am far from understanding all that this strange phenomenon implies.
To me personally these ‘readings’ are also a sort of exercise in uninhibited writing, following the organic flow of my thoughts and feelings, unhindered by the more linear habit of thinking that often stifles my creativity. Not quite ‘stream of consciousness’ writing yet; perhaps one day.

The question that now confronts us is, how may an astrologer employ the Sabian symbols to read horoscopes more sensitively, and at the same time strengthen his or her feeling for astrology?
Rudhyar's specific answer is quite direct: "...The material is to be USED, to serve as a catalyst to deepen thinking about individual experiences [or outer events] and their essential meaning..."
22 degree of Sagittarius: ‘A Chinese laundry’ This is very much a North American image/symbol whose meaning may not be obvious to people from other countries. Chinese immigrants to the USA and Canada were often forced to take on occupations like laundering because no many other opportunities were offered by a society that openly discriminated them. In this light a Chinese laundry is a place where disempowered people could find a humble but dignified way to survive and somehow fit in an alien world. The level of service had to be very high. A Chinese laundry was not just a place for washing dirty linen, because, in the first place, these items would have been collected from the client’s home, then soaked, scrubbed, hand washed, starched, wrung out and dried, mended if necessary, ironed, properly folded and delivered back in record time. With the resourcefulness often born of grave difficulties these displaced people found a niche that they were able to fill by hard labour and thriftiness. Here is indicated a way to be humble and practical in order to find solutions to one’s problem in life. Great success stories had often modest beginnings because they made the most of difficult circumstances. Paola Emma of Living Moon Astrology
