IT'S BEEN AN EVENTFUL WEEK since our catalytic New Moon last Sunday. As often occurs, we've experienced breakdowns as a necessary step in opening the space for breakthroughs to occur. As a result of all this, a major shift is underway, one that is still rippling out into our life experience and just beginning to settle into our awareness.
Individual highlights of the coming week are the potent Mars-Pluto alignment on Thursday, and the transformative Full Moon in Scorpio next Sunday. Both of these events will serve to deepen this process of transmutation currently in progress.
THROUGHOUT THIS WEEK, Mars is activating the effects of the Jupiter-Pluto sextile, the great "detoxifier" that has been working with us for several months. With the Red Planet now involved, the process of purging is even more highly energized.
With Mars triggering this influence, new potentials unfold while old systems rapidly decay. We are strongly motivated to shift our habitual ways of navigating through issues that used to undermine us. In other words, we are reclaiming our power from where it has been held captive by other people, circumstances, or our own patterns.
WEDNESDAY is significant in that Mercury and Saturn are in square aspect for the third time this year, thanks to Mercury's recent retrograde phase. With the first square on March 10, and the second on April 5, situations that became problematic in early March should finally find some resolution this week.
And, it may be that frustrations that arise on Wednesday under the influence of the Mercury-Saturn square will inspire the powerful action represented by the Mars-Pluto alignment on Thursday.
THE FULL MOON next Sunday is at 9°38′ Scorpio, and occurs at 5:58 p.m. PDT (12:58 a.m. GMT on Monday). The Moon and the Sun are both in close square aspect to the North and South Node, challenging us to make a major evolutionary leap.
This close aspect to the Nodes signifies that a "Moon Wobble" will be in effect. According to the late astrologer Jan Spiller:
"Moon Wobbles stir emotional energy in the atmosphere. With the Moon Wobble in the sign of Scorpio, you may experience excessive feelings of distrust. It could be more difficult to give the benefit of the doubt during these days and you may unfairly judge others. Emotions will be running high, making it difficult to sort through the facts."
Our challenge with this Full Moon is not to get caught up in the drama, but to follow the advice of the North Node in Leo, which is to approach life more lightly and to have a playful attitude when dealing with problems that arise.
THE MOON is also aligned with the fixed star Nusakan at the time of the lunation, underscoring the positive themes represented by the Leo North Node. In his book The Magic of the Stars, Roderick Kidston writes:
"There is a consciousness-raising theme with Nusakan. Something about this star elevates the spirit, and then the mood, and the thoughts, and the actions, and the habits, and finally the destiny. Your powers of wishing and affirmation are, if anything, stronger with this star than with many others in the heavens."
WE CLEARLY have powerful opportunities this week, with the Mars-Pluto alignment and the Full Moon in particular. But golden coins will not fall randomly from the sky and into our pockets.
We are at a pivotal time of making choices, in who we are, in how we move through the world, and in how we hold our essential energy. These choices are often made in seemingly small ways, in how we deal with daily challenges and frustrations. When we can elevate our responses, lifting our vibration instead of falling into old emotional traps, we are making the changes the world needs. We Become the Change We Want to See.
IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEK: While you may deal with unexpected changes this year, you also have great strength and the ability to build anew. Tap into your knowing of what brings you joy, and follow that guidance unerringly. Risk-taking can be difficult for many Taureans, but with Uranus entering your sign, it's time to recreate yourself. Continue to challenge yourself to move and think in new, more enlightened ways, rather than according to old familiar and comfortable patterns.
In light,
Pam
