"Ringing" out all over London town, like the town crier's of old, or the barrow boys shouting out the different fruit and veg, or the old cockney costermongers shouting out their wares, instead we have the Christmas message ringing out from ALL the media screens and 'Every' Newspaper... "Get your vaccine before you die!" "Get your vaccine before you kill someone else!" " Get your vaccines, come and get your vaccines!!!!!" " Free Boosters, get your Free Boosters! "...... In the times before Christmas was hi jacked, and summer holidays were hi jacked....they were already hi jacked. Yes Thats right, they were hi jacked out of any sense of human well being. The hamster wheel of coercion was already tellling us HOW to do christmas...and HOW to do summer holidays...In fact these were two 'gifts' from them to give respite from the long arduous yearly grind. They turned Christmas into the consumerism car park where it became all about getting a space in the mass car parks and fighting through traffic to 'do' the christmas protocols. The same with summer, long tail back traffic and flocking to places for the holiday that people 'so' needed to make sense of the crazy hard nosed lives they were living, moving in hamster wheels to the bang of the consumerism drum. Now they have taken those 'familiar rewards' to inject the people further with desperation and the removal of the freedom to 'do' what they thought they were doing in freedom....but actually were just performing en masse to drums of consumerism. So that gone, maybe we can relax a little and choose to opt out of listening to the perpetual bleating that drones on and on and maybe we can figure out that there is a better life and beat a path to it. ~~Michaela~~

"Get vaccinated for Christmas: A message from Leader Cllr XXXXXX XXXXXXX Cllr XXXXXXX News story image As we head into the final week before Christmas and towards the end of 2021 we had hoped by now that the pandemic would be over but sadly it isn't. We've pulled together to get through before and we can do it again. We're involved in a huge effort behind the scenes, working around the clock with our NHS partners and an army of local volunteers, turning council venues into vaccination clinics and creating thousands of booster appointments to help protect Harrow residents. We’re in a race against time, as Omicron, by far the most infectious variant of the virus, moves through the population at alarming speed. Everyone over the age of 18 is now entitled to a booster and it remains our very best defence against Covid. See the latest advice from Harrow’s Director of Public Health Carole Furlong on how to beat Omicron and keep each other safe. Last weekend thousands of people had their Covid booster at centres and pharmacies in Harrow and we’re expanding our capacity much further to meet the demand for vaccine appointments, both boosters and first and second jabs for those that still need them. If you had your second jab at least three months ago, you can book your booster now. Appointments are being added all the time to the national booking system, including at Byron Hall and at Civic campus. Demand is very high, so if you have difficulty, please keep trying, There’s also been a huge increase in the number of appointments that GPs and Pharmacies are able to offer. Walk in appointments are available today until Monday at Civic 5, the building to the right of the main Civic Centre. We’re ramping up capacity in this clinic and hope it will soon operate 7 days a week. If you’re coming to this clinic without a booked appointment, please arrive between 9am and 6pm, be prepared for a long wait outdoors and plan accordingly.
