I live in Edgware, which is in North London, or greater London. It is on the outskirts of, and easy access into the build up of the city. Diverse already, and often you can feel like your in another country. Often no English accents or voices can be heard; It is home to many many people of different origin. Maybe because of this, town planning has implemented plans to insert the equivalent of another town... into it, at the heart of the town, in the form of reconstruction the main hub of travel between the surrounding towns, and the build UP of homes in the form of at least 20 x 22 + story high buildings. The government has decided that housing needs are calling for this, the population of London has expanded exponentially AND as there are NO HOMES for all the invited and uninvited into the country, they will be making powerful moves for themselves to meet the consequential permanent housing needs by building towns upon towns, They have already agreed building on what is known as the green belt around London, and slowly slowly the green area around London has been encroached upon...but it must be said that the nicer areas of green belt land have been built on by the nicer developments, and the more luxury end of properties to be lived in by those who can afford the beautiful views of green space, fields and stretch of skies available to the wealthy. Edgware is located in what was considered buy many as a 'nice' area, more green and suburban, and less inner city, but still on its doorstep and distanced by a short walk, are areas that have been rapidly urbanised and carry the consequences of being Changed irreversibly, into rough market streets that bear no resemblance to the working class London borough it was 30 years ago. The escalation and encroaching on space and resident demographs, transforming them into the cities dumping ground, is this version of the mirroring reflection of how London has changed and I cant help thinking that All those who are making the plans, choices and policies, the mayor, and politics, the developers.....know they will be dead and gone at some point, and couldn't CARE LESS about the role, the importance of forward planning, LIVING WELL, and the relevance of what they are managing into the future....And care only ONLY about their Status, their Money, back handers, profits and social standing, and how their LEGACIES are for themselves and their families. Look at Blair...not even in government, but he knows that Government is where the power is and positions himself to remain a driving factor for policies FROM WHICH HE PERSONALLY GAINS. He was BIG in the move to digital ID and a main factor in exceeding numbers entering the country. The increased masses then need to be controlled and housed amongst other things that he was personally involved in creating the problem that he was so positioned to profit from. Michaela.
