Haumea. Earth Goddess. Close to Pluto's destruction, from her place a jewel on Pluto's Kuiper Belt, she does her magic. Where Pluto is, so is she, sprinkling rebirth sparkles over the dust from the chaos and deconstruction liberated by Pluto...." The name Haumea was given to a dwarf planet from the Kuiper Belt region of the solar system, near Pluto. " ..."The astrology of Haumea seems to be related to love of the natural world and to the fecundity of natural process. This archetype thus signals profound connection to Nature, connection to Source, and a form of natural charisma. It may well develop that this planetary archetype comes to represent the power of life to triumph over adversity by drawing upon inner reserves of vigor and natural lore, the instinctual urge to survive at any cost. Where she is located in the chart will be a source of inner strength, spiritual connection, and protean flexibility. "... "Haumea assists in bringing forth what is fresh or new, and facilitates its emergence. She is also an image of self-reliance, autonomy, revitalization and rejuvenation."
Haumea 136108
Haumea is the Hawaiian goddess of fertility and childbirth, mother of the fire and volcano goddess Pele and numerous other divine offspring, mostly born parthenogenetically, from parts of her body, without male assistance. She was instrumental in teaching human women how to give birth, and performed an important midwifery function. Haumea is ever-renewing rather than ageless; she does grow old, but periodically regenerates herself as a young maiden. The name Haumea was given to a dwarf planet from the Kuiper Belt region of the solar system, near Pluto.
Astrologically, Haumea connects with issues of fertility, childbirth and renewal, whenever something new is “born”, and the pangs and pains associated with creativity. Haumea assists in bringing forth what is fresh or new, and facilitates its emergence. She is also an image of self-reliance, autonomy, revitalization and rejuvenation. Prominently placed, she could indicate work with obstetrics, gynecology, fertility/infertility issues or as a midwife. https://alexasteroidastrology.com/haumea/..............

Keyword: Earth Goddess.
The third trans-Neptunian Object, or TNO, to be officially designated as a dwarf planet, after Eris and MakeMake, Haumea was discovered just after Christmas 2004 and nicknamed "Santa" by discoverer Mike Brown's team before being named for the Hawaiian creation goddess. Its discovery was officially announced on July 29th, 2005, by his group. Haumea is different from other TNOs in that it is rocky, as befits a goddess of the earth, and rotating extremely rapidly - a revolution every 4 hours. As a result, its shape is elongated, like a small cigar. Haumea's extreme elongation makes it unique among TNOs, with its greatest axis twice as long as its shortest. Its orbital period is 283 years. It was discovered when it was near to its farthest distance from the Sun, or its aphelion, as were MakeMake and Eris.
Creation goddess of the islands of Hawaii, Haumea was the source of many gods and goddesses as well as of the race of humankind. Pele, Hi'iaka, Namaka, Laka and many others were her offspring. Her skill at childbirth is recounted in countless stories. Children sprang from different parts of her body, Hi'iaka from her mouth and Namaka from her breasts. She rules over fertility and childbirth. She possessed a magic stick from the Makalei tree that would enable her to conjure up fish and other edibles, and therefore she is also associated with a never-failing food supply. She also has the power of eternal youth. With each birth she was destroyed and subsequently recreated herself. This choice of planetary archetype arising in these times would seem to support the environmental concerns of dwindling resources and the response of fecund creativity that gives forth abundance and life itself in response to deprivation.
The astrology of Haumea seems to be related to love of the natural world and to the fecundity of natural process. Where she is located in the chart will be a source of inner strength, spiritual connection, and protean flexibility. https://www.astrograph.com/learning-astrology/haumea.php................
Haumea, a Hawaiian Goddess
When the American discoverers made the courageous decision to break away from the tradition of naming new planets after Greek and Roman god/desses, they may have symbolised an emerging respect for Eastern or alternative spiritual beliefs. This is possibly one of the most fundamental messages of Haumea’s and Makemake’s appearance.
Haumea is the Hawaiian goddess of fertility, childbirth, wild plants and nature. She also represents fire and the rock that is formed out of it on her volcanic islands. Such a simple example that fire forms earth, just as energy forms matter. The old islanders said that the Hawaiian Islands rose up out of the sea as the body of the spirit and in fact, everything about Haumea is quintessentially Mother Nature with no dividing line between the islanders and their island.
A startling coincidence was the announcement that the planet was surrounded by five icy chunks and two moons, which seem to have been knocked off her body by a collision. (The moons were found using the telescope on Hawaii.) With Haumea herself, this makes eight. The state of Hawaii also comprises of the main island and then seven other islands that surround her, making a total of eight. Myth says these islands were formed from parts of her body.
Haumea has deep and profound resonance with creational energy and her volcanic origins. It is possible that she may symbolise discoveries in evolutionary science, so her future role in astrology is likely to be mundane, although this remains to be seen. She appears to represent the Earth’s crust and 33 trapped Chilean miners were lifted to safety in a metal pod which was winched through the rock as first the Sun then Mercury conjuncted Haumea in 2010.
In conclusion we should read the words of Beckworth, who wrote this in 1940:
“Behind (the legend of Haumea) is the Polynesian mythical conception of a dark formless spirit world presided over by the female element, and a world of form born out of the spirit world and to which it again returns, made visible and active in this human life through light as the impregnating male element.”8
Why the arrival of so many new symbols? What are we being introduced to? Why do we need the dwarf planets?
Haumea, Makemake and Eris were all respected by races who believed that the god/desses were the feelings, energies and natural responses of the living and nature. They believed that all things on Earth are imbued with magical power, force and energy - fact that science now knows to be true. But this concept was alien to the West, which has worshipped a single god and not nature. We lost our relationship with the environment, tuning in to technology and tuning out the sacred feminine and natural rhythm. Let’s hope this will be reversed now.
Astrologers who have been around a while are firmly attached to the old classical planets paradigm and quite happy with the astrology they get from that, thank you very much. So it will take the new generations of astrologers to begin to use the dwarfs regularly. However, the dwarfs may be smaller in scale to the classicals, but small does not mean insignificant, as we know from our experience of Pluto’s power. Maybe the final consideration for the dwarf planets should be this.... we don't need astrology to tell us life is getting more complex..... but we do need an astrology to describe it.
