 Maybe I am wrong but the escalation reported and backed up by footage from inside, could be to stage a pretend outcome of an different event, different from the event of supporting. One that was not actually carried out by trump supporters but made to look as though it was. 

Not defending anybody, 

but activists need to be active and sometimes get paid for it,

 and supporters need to support also sometimes get paid for it. 

But it looks to me that obfuscation has occurred here.  More layers of obsfucation here
