Birdy is still alive nearly 3 hours after being wrenched out of the nest high up in an ancient evergreen. The baby bird hadnt been hatched long, when the cat managed to drag herself up the tree and grab it with her mouth. The baby bird had started to grow the long dark wisps which turn to feathers. Its eyes are dark orbs covered with tightly closed lids. You can see its heart beating.
