In hindsight of the eclipse. NorthPoint Journal: Your guide to planetary energies for February 12 to 18, 2018 By Pam Younghans.

Sometimes reading these planetary energy guides only makes sense to me 'after' they occur.

I can then translate the information with my actual experience of them. The eclipse last week didn't make sense to me until the weekend, (consolidating clearing, grounding and trauma release in a bio-eneergetics workshop)  and this information accurately explains the inner and outer comings and goings of planetary pushes and pulls throughout this time. Through till Monday...it has been hard, but all the while, knowing and sensing a huge shift is occurring throughout, and then eventually victorious in pulling that shift through to its completion.

Now its like lying on beach after a hard swim through high tide waves.

And interestingly, for this coming week, I like that "We also have a Mars-Neptune square early on Saturday that challenges us to let go of the ego's need to be "right." We're likely to feel the effects of this aspect starting on Friday, when we may find we just don't have the energy to fight anymore, and we realize that it's time to find a new way to resolve our problems."   Michaela.

THURSDAY'S partial Solar Eclipse/New Moon is without doubt the focal point of the coming week, and is also the highlight of the entire month of February. This is a "South Node eclipse," meaning that the Sun and Moon are aligned with the Moon's South Node. This type of eclipse marks a clear division between the past and the future. It carries a strong sense of karmic resolution and requires that we release attitudes and circumstances that have been interfering with our evolutionary progress.
According to astrologer Judith Hall, a South Node eclipse represents "the out-tide of celestial energy," when forms and energy exit. It is a time to let go, accept, look inward, cleanse, and resolve. We may also feel less energized around the time of the eclipse, both physically and emotionally. To support yourself during this time, allow yourself extra time to rest and use tools from your metaphysical self-care kit to strengthen the light around you, while also being aware of ways and places you might tend to "leak" your energy.
THE ECLIPSE occurs when the Sun and Moon align at 27°07′ Aquarius on Thursday, February 15, at 1:05 p.m. PST (9:05 p.m. GMT). The lunation is closely conjunct the fixed star Gienah Cygni, activating its high-vibrational energies as a part of our eclipse experience.
Astrologer Roderick Kidston writes that there is a "strong spiritual dimension" to this fixed star, which sits on the edge of the south wing of Cygnus, the Swan:
"There's nothing weak about the refined energy of Gienah Cygni, quite the opposite, in fact. There is something dramatic here, sometimes magnificently showy. The high spiritual path is not for the wimpy or unprepared. When we move beyond the everyday and seek to connect with higher realms or truths, remarkable transformations are possible. Once we are ready and set we go, like the wind.”
Clearly, this Solar Eclipse has grand intentions for us! I think many of us can verify that this eclipse season has already brought about some dramatic manifestations. It's been hard not to get caught up in their impact on our mundane reality. But if Gienah Cygni is in charge of this process, then our challenge and our guidance is not to reside in the purely physical reasons or logical explanations, but to "move beyond the everyday and seek to connect with higher realms or truths." Perhaps then we will be "ready and set" for one of those "remarkable transformations" that we yearn for.
THE THEMES of communication and partnership are also strongly woven into the eclipse energies -- both Mercury and the asteroid Juno are within two degrees of the Sun and Moon at the time of the event.
In mythology, Juno is the Goddess of Marriage and was married to Jove (Jupiter). Astrologically, she brings forward issues of commitment in all its forms, whether interpersonal, business, or international. With Juno in Aquarius, she is especially concerned with equality and freedom in partnerships, and the rights of women who have been oppressed or abused.
Mercury is, of course, the Messenger to the Gods. In Aquarius, Mercury is the inventor, the bringer of progressive ideas, and the solution-finder. His involvement in the eclipse -- and his square to Jupiter on Tuesday -- may bring yet more surprising information forward, knowledge that alters how we perceive current situations. We must remember, however, that this is a South Node eclipse -- so there may be old, outdated concepts and thought patterns that we need to discard before we can fully avail ourselves of the insights and inspiration awaiting us.
URANUS is in close sextile aspect to the line-up of planets in Aquarius at the time of the eclipse. This indicates great opportunities for positive change, especially as we open our conscious minds (represented by Mercury) to information downloaded from our higher mind (represented by Uranus). This shift of consciousness is a choice and is not forced upon us -- but it is when we make the decision to change how we perceive "reality" that we can access the clearest solutions and best new directions.
Uranus is the planetary "ruler" of Aquarius, and its positive aspect to the Solar Eclipse reassures us that progress and change are occurring, even as we struggle with what feels like chaos along the way. This is when we most urgently need that Uranian higher-mind perspective.
Neale Donald Walsch reassures us, "Everything is falling together perfectly, even though it looks as if some things are falling apart. Trust in the process you are now experiencing.”
With similar sentiment, Pema Chodron writes, “When everything falls apart and we feel uncertainty, disappointment, shock, embarrassment, what’s left is a mind that is clear, unbiased, and fresh.”
Good words to keep in mind with our South Node Solar Eclipse this week, and Gienah Cygni ready to assist in the process of transformation, a journey that always involves embracing uncertainty as old forms fall apart.
THE FEELING IN THE AIR shifts next weekend. We've been working with a lot of Aquarian energy recently, which manifests in a great deal of mental activity and often somewhat unsettled or unpredictable circumstances. But both Mercury and the Sun move into mystical Pisces over the weekend, joining Venus, Neptune, and Chiron already in the twelfth sign. This shift helps us move from so much reliance on using our minds to figure things out to a greater trust in the guidance received through our hearts.
We also have a Mars-Neptune square early on Saturday that challenges us to let go of the ego's need to be "right." We're likely to feel the effects of this aspect starting on Friday, when we may find we just don't have the energy to fight anymore, and we realize that it's time to find a new way to resolve our problems. This Neptunian process of release and surrender opens the door to the month of Pisces, during which we are encouraged to develop qualities of compassion and forgiveness and to beat our swords into plowshares.
IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEK: This year contains within it the potentials for finding resolution with your past as a powerful step in opening to new and inspired beginnings. It may be difficult to maintain your usual objectivity, since you feel inordinately passionate about the issues you are trying to resolve -- but this is your opportunity to go deep and to fully purge your energy fields of the old emotions that have held you back. As you embrace this process, your healing is magnified and your transformation is enhanced.
In light,

Pam
